San Antonio Symphony plans notable week

February 11, 1987

The program features former Joffrey Ballet dance star Edward Morgan, who is a native of San Antonian. Morgan was featured in the Joffrey’s ballet “Jamboree” which was about San Antonio and had its world premiere here in 1984 under sponsorship of the San Antonio Performing Arts Association, the city of San Antonio and Sn Antonio Savings Association.

Morgan who will dance to “The Spirited Martin,” a work choreographed to Samuel Barber’s “Adagio for Strings.”

Morgan also will be featured later in the program in a dance done to “Happy Birthday” and to the third movement scherzo of William Grant Still’s Afro American Symphony.
